I wish there were more products that came to mind. CreditKarma is one. Most seem to not only be a customer facing product but one in financial services because of the complexities involved. We could argue at some level that Zillow is an example, as the future to their monetization is connecting the home buyer with a mortgage broker. Using them illustrates the challenge - money. You need lots to pull it off, and so far only a handful of companies have a problem they want to solve and been able to raise the money needed.

Great post and indeed, an awesome win for performance-based online customer acquisition. Besides BillShrink, can you think of any more startups that are using this approach -- building a trusted brand and service that will yield returning and loyal users?
